Erik recently noted on the Goodson list. He got this info from the person who works on the official site:
"Have just added the following information to the official site:
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have completed recording their new album which will be released through Mute Records in March 2001. Basic tracks - sixteen of them - were recorded live in the big room at Abbey Road Studios during September. Overdubbing of strings and backing vocals was completed during the first week of October. For the recording, the Bad Seeds' regular eight piece line-up was augmented by Kate and Anna McGarrigle who contributed backing vocals to a dozen of the songs and a string section lead by Gavin XXXXXX. Longtime confederate Tony Cohen co-produced.
All the songs recorded are Cave originals, including an almost vertiginous version of 'Love Letter', orchestrated by Warren Ellis and Mick Harvey. [Other titles include: 'Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow', 'God is in the House', 'No More Shall We Part', 'The Sorrowful Wife', 'Sweetheart Come' and 'As I Sat Sadly By Her Side']
John Hillcoat, director of Ghosts... of the Civil Dead and To Have and To Hold, shot loads of digital footage of the recording sessions which may be compiled on DVD for release through Tender Prey."
