Running Scared
* riff after every two lines or so A------2-0------- E----------2----- F# B As I walk these narrow streets F# Where a million passin feet have trod before me * F# With my guitar in my hand B F# Suddenly I realize nobody knows me * B Where yesterday the multitude F# Screamed and cried my name out for a song * F# Today the streets are empty B F# And the crowds have all gone home ** F# I pass a million houses B B But there is no place that I belong * F# All I knew to give you B F# Was song after song after song * All the truths I tried to tell you Were as distant to you as the moon Born 200 years too late And 200 years too soon I'm a child of this age Locked into the pages of your book And when I am but dust and clay And all the children stop to take a look Will they marvel at the miracles I did perform And the heights I did aspire Or will they tear out the pages of the book To light a fire With the rain on my face There is no place that I belong Did you forget this fucking singer so soon? And did you forget my song?
All Tomorrow's Parties

These are just the standard chords, the way the Velvet Underground and I assume the Seeds play it is with a gooseneck tuning where all the strings are tuned to D.

Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart
(Greenaway/Cook)
(NOTE: These chords are really for Gene Pitney's original; Cave does it in a lower key, but I haven't bothered to check out which. - Trond.)

D9:200210(* Play the Bb7 as a bare chord on the 6th fret to make it sound right, i.e. 686766. - Trond.)
Comments from Paul McMullan:
The position of the chords is about right I think. In many cases they should be played on the start of the word that follows the chord. For example, (F)scarlet ... means the F is played on the s. My positioning of the chords isn't exactly the same as the sheet music - it doesn't always correspond to where the guitar chord has been placed. But it does agree with the chord (or note) in the piano notation.Table of Contents
