Hi all.
It's been a while since I checked my mail, so forgive the lateness of this BDO message. I couldn't see any reviews of the Sydney BDO, so I just wanted to tell you all that it was incredible. The set list was pretty much the same for all the other states, except that Kylie came on and sang Where the Wild Roses Grow.
She needed a lot of help vocally from Mick Harvey, who sang the low range along with her. Nick proceeded to virtually ravish the woman on stage, much to the chagrin of all his female fans!!! (Me included.)
The Bad Seeds were just so great. Loverman was Awesome, as was From Here to Eternity and the Mercy Seat to finish was the best version I have ever heard! Warren Elis of the Dirty Three helped out a lot too!
Anyway, I think it was the best live show I have ever seen! Such a pity it was only an hour set.
Also, just wanted to tell folks who cared that I finally managed to get a copy of King Ink from Waterfront Records in Sydney. For anyone who's interested it's published by Black Spring Press Ltd in London. Price A$30.00 It has some loveley scrawley copies of Nick's original workings & doodles as well as two working versions of the song Scum on the inside covers.
A must for all die hards.
Thanks for listening & bye for now.
